“I think music education, particularly classical music education, is truly important … if we would like to establish Hong Kong as one of the leading cultural cities in the region. The afternoon children's concert, held at 5pm was opened by Ms. Florence Hui, Under Secretary for Home Affairs of the Hong Kong SAR Government. Narrated in Cantonese, the concert was attended by a full-house audience of young people and their families invited through NGOs including Po Leung Kuk, New Home Association, The Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong, and Hong Chi Association.
"That was quite lovely ... it makes me miss concerts in parks — there are just so few venues in Hong Kong that are intimate with a garden backdrop," commented one Asia Society member.
